After appropriately opening with their hit song, Intro, the band slowly felt as if it had already peaked with their energy, it was somewhat painfully nonchalant.
With their mirrors on stage and their light show and samples, this chill indie group transformed their album music to an entire haunting experience. Yet, this show was just exactly what you would expect; nothing more, nothing less. For most of the show, it just felt the same way the music felt when you listened to it on the album, which can be a great thing, but in this case, it seemed a little unexciting.

Their stage performance was subpar, everything they did from every sway to every light movement was exactly perfect and planned, their uses of stops in their music an flights felt as if they completely froze time for many moments.
The light show really made the mood for every song there was a moment where I truly felt as if the Osaka sun was peeking through the back of the venue, the light’s combined with the ambient sounds really filled the mood.
At some points, it felt almost futuristic. Aesthetically, there was so much silver and mirrors, which felt full and colorful and lively when the lights were different colors, but for the most part, they seemed very white and clean.

There were maybe one or two truly intimate moments in this show, the entire band felt somewhat disconnected to the audience for the most part. However, there were many haunting moments where you felt the pain and aching of Jamie XX as she sang such raw and vulnerable lyrics.
In some moments, it was almost too perfect, like they were robots, but then they would open their mouths and their voices opened you up to their inner world.
The connection between the lead singers Jamie XX and Oliver Sim was unapologetically strong, their harmonies were exactly as the album version of every single song, they almost sound as one person, like one cannot independently sing without the other.

The light show this band had really made the show what it is. in other shows, the lights normally compliment the vibe of the band, this light show provided the overall feel and mood of each individual song and the overall aura of the show.
Somewhere around the middle of their setlist then decided to really bring it and turn this chill indie show into a festival rave. You could feel the actual beat of the drum and melody of Jamie XX’s voice in your bones, the show transformed at this point into something so much bigger. The light show became so intricate, The lasers and smoke combined to look almost identical to their album cover.
After the bass dropped and the lights went from giving the mood to blowing your mind, every head in this packed house was bobbing with the band for the rest of the night.
